The 100 Pics Challenge

Sun Nov 30, 2008, 10:42 AM
I need to find a way to balance art, writing, and schoolwork. As soon as I was done churning out the non-fiction stories for my writing class this semester, I did two art pieces back to back and started two more. It's weird how I can only work on one creative track at a time. I can never write if I'm making art, and vice versa. I'm going to try to work on doing both at the same time, and I'm going to do this challenge, which is a great idea.

100 PICS CHALLENGE

The point of this challenge is to test and improve your skill as an artist. After 100 pics who wouldn’t be better?

The Rules

1.) Make 100 pics each pic having a theme listed below. Each pic should have ONE and only ONE theme to it, for it to count.
2.) No time limit so have fun.
3.) People are allowed to use their paint programs and photo shop to create the pic.
4.) The list below is to be placed somewhere in your journal for others to see that......
_A.) You are in the challenge.
_B.) What you have completed.
5.) Make sure to update this list and check off what is done and make a link to the pic.
6.) In the comments for your art work note if it is part of the list and what ONE theme it is.

A new plaything...

Sun Jul 13, 2008, 10:40 PM
I haven't been very active, but rest assured I'm quietly underground with my art. I'll be back eventually, as I have a new toy... an old Canon AE-1 that I will be prancing around with. Hopefully I can figure out how to work a manual camera and play with the lenses and focus, as I've only ever had an auto-focus digital camera.

No art for a while...

Sun Feb 3, 2008, 8:11 PM
Hello, everyone! I moved in a teeny studio apartment recently and my computer isn't here, just my husband's computer, so all my art and Photoshop and all that isn't with me. Right now I'm just reading and doing a LOT of homework. And cooking, of course. I'm a great cook, and food is an art form, right? Yes, this means my husband and I are living together again and that is good news (except that there's no room for my computer).

When I have a place that has room for the computer you can bet I'll be going crazy making art. Until then, hang in there and I'll be back! xoxoxoxoxo

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Mon Dec 31, 2007, 9:14 AM
I want to thank each and every single person who has added me to their friends list, given me favorites, left me comments, and supported me through this personally trying year. While I make art because of this compulsion within me that is always whispering in my ear ideas of these beautiful images (that never even come close to what I see in my head; my talent is not nearly up to par with my imagination) and I make art for the love of it, it helps to have a tiny, wee audience that enjoys it. Thank you for your support. Thank you to every single person that has passed by here just to say hi or offer me encouragement and advice in troubling personal situations. It all matters to me.

I hope you all have a happy new year and may 2008 bring many great blessings to you all.

a magic title...

Mon Dec 17, 2007, 9:28 PM
I finished a new piece of art (I think). It didn't take me long to make it. I keep tweaking it, but it's pretty much done. Why am I holding off on posting it?

I HAVE NO TITLE.

I refuse to post something as untitled. I refuse. Why can't a decent title come to me? I know what I am saying with the picture... but there are no words to properly encapsulate it. Blah blah blah blah blah. I've been listening to music trying to pull words out of lyrics and song titles... nothing.

I need to go to bed and sleep on it.

Okay. I promise you will see my new art... oh, how about... at least sometime this week. Sometime. I really like this piece and I'm using a a stock model I've never used before. That always feels interesting and new.
